Effects of Sn Promoter on the Ordered Mesoporous Co3O4-Al2O3 Mixed Metal Oxide for Fischer–Tropsch Synthesis Reaction

The highly ordered mesoporous Co3O4-Al2O3 bimetal oxide, prepared by a nano-casting method, was modified with Sn promoter (denoted as Sn/m-CoAlOx) to enhance selectivity liquid-hydrocarbons well suppress CO2 formation formed water gas-shift (WGS) reaction activity during CO hydrogenation hydrocarbons (Fischer–Tropsch Synthesis (FTS) reaction). Based on the surface properties of Sn/m-CoAlOx in range 0.25–0.65 wt%Sn, generally decreased conversion and increased C5+ through its non-selective blockages active metallic cobalt sites, which were responsible for more difficult reducibility nanoparticles an increase content well. In addition those contributions promoter, CH4 clearly observed optimal Sn(2)/m-CoAlOx only small decrease 79.1% from 81.5% reference m-CoAlOx. Those phenomena mainly attributed suppressed WGS form due H2 adsorption capacity less reduced Co sites Sn(2)/m-CoAlOx.
